Hosting is like renting space on the internet, it is essential for your website to be accessed/viewed. We recommend Ventraip, they are local, affordable and offer great support.
A domain name is your website’s address, the text people type into their browser to find you online. For example, Google’s domain name is google.com.
In Australia, businesses often use extensions like .com.au or .au, which require an ABN to register. You can usually register your domain name through the same provider that hosts your website, we recommend Ventraip.
To get started, we’ll need your branding assets (such as logos, colours, and style guides) or anything you already have that represents your business or passion. We’ll also provide you with a simple checklist to gather the key details we need.
You’ll also need to supply your website content and images. If you’re not sure where to begin, don’t worry, we can guide you through the process and even help create content or source images if needed.
Once your domain name and hosting are set up (we can help with this), we’ll install WordPress and create a “coming soon” page that shows your logo, branding, and basic contact details.
From there, we start building your website. You’ll be given a login so you can review the progress and share feedback along the way. When you’re happy with the design, we’ll remove the “coming soon” page and launch your website live.
We offer ongoing support to keep your website running smoothly. Our optional management plans include monthly updates for WordPress, plugins, and themes, as well as regular backups and assistance with changes to your site.
If you’d prefer to manage things yourself, we can provide training so you feel confident updating and maintaining your website.
When your new website goes live, it will be accessible to anyone who types in your web address. You can also share your website link on social media, business cards, email signatures, and online directories to help more people find you.
Because your site is built on WordPress, which Google loves, it already has a strong foundation for being found in search results. WordPress is well-structured, mobile-friendly, and easy for search engines to understand. Over time, adding fresh content (like blogs or updates) and doing ongoing SEO or marketing will help improve your visibility.
If you’d like to take your search visibility further, I offer onsite SEO for $400 for a 5-page website. This includes keyword optimisation, meta descriptions, and setting up Google Search Console so your site is indexed correctly. Onsite SEO can be done during the build or after your website goes live.
